Georgia Burns is an Australian photographer with over a decade behind the camera. With a background in art and fashion, she has built a distinctive body of work photographing weddings throughout Australia and internationally.
Based in Newcastle, NSW, Georgia photographs a considered number of celebrations each year across Australia and select destinations worldwide.
Her work has been published in British Vogue, Vogue Australia, Together Journal, Wedded Wonderland, Wed Vibes, Hello May and The Bridal Journey.
Philosophy & Approach
A wedding is multifaceted, and I believe the photography should be too.
My couples care deeply about photography. They value beautiful imagery and a strong photographic point of view, but they also want to experience their wedding rather than spend the day creating photographs.
I don't believe a wedding needs to fit within one photographic style. There is room for photographs that are intentional and refined alongside those that are instinctive and unplanned. What matters to me is creating a body of work that reflects the wedding as a whole.
I want my couples to recognise themselves in the photographs, while also seeing their wedding in ways they may not have seen it themselves.
