Bali Weddings
Bali is the Island of love. When I first arrived and explored Bali, it felt like a warm hug, and like I was finally home (crazy right?).
For me it’s the people, the land, and the warm air. And after only a few days, I realised why Bali should be a top destination for destination weddings of any size.
From mesmerising clifftop panoramas meet turquoise waves crashing against white-sand beaches. It's a place where lush jungles meet rice paddies, Hindu temples abound, and there is no shortage of sublime food and dreamy resorts and villas. In short, Bali is a stunning place to say “I do.” and get married.
Weddings here can range from high end prices to very affordable packages. There is no shortage of stunning venues, typically clifftop weddings are sought after for ceremony location, as well as beach weddings and forest weddings.
Uluwatu is famous for clifftop weddings; it’s one of the most popular location in Bali, as well as Nusa Due known for its white sand beaches.
Most resorts offer such as the clifftop Uluwatu Surf Villas, offer options for full- or half-property buyouts that include three nights of accommodations for approximately 50 guests.
Destination weddings that take place in Bali often opt for what is known as a blessing ceremony, and legally wed in their own country. As with most destinations weddings the legality side marriage in another country can be tricky, so I find this is the most relaxed way to do this, and of course having a close friend be celebrant and MC for the day is so intimate and special.
For the best weather in Bali for weddings I recommend booking venues in June through October, as the remaining months tend to have a much higher potential for rain. And one last thing to consider: Most resorts have a curfew of 10 p.m. for amplified music. Having a buyout is an exception, but not always possible at the larger resorts (some get around it by moving guests to a ballroom, a private villa, or a communal area with a speaker).
Whether you only invite a few of your nearest and dearest to your destination wedding in Bali, or go big like the waves at Uluwatu a destination wedding in Bali is such a beautiful location.
Of course being a destination wedding photographer I have seen some stunning Bali locations and Wedding Venues, here are some of my favourite; Alila Villas Uluwatu, Amankila, Uluwatu Surf Villas, Ayana Bali, Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa, and there are plenty more to explore and find in Bali.
